This trailer is the first glimpse of One Day on Earth, an ambitious motion picture shot by thousands of filmmakers in every country in the world on a single day: October 10, 2010. The trailer alone includes footage from 90 individuals and organizations. The producer/director Kyle Ruddick is currently editing down 3,000 hours of film and is asking for help via Kickstarter to complete the project.

This is wild! This church is made of guns, gun parts, and ammo. Totally aside from the political statement, this is a really cool construction! (My husband calls it "The Church of the Holy Caliber.")

The Atlantic selected pictures from Google Earth and posted them for us to guess where they are. These pictures are GREAT! Even if you don't want to take the quiz, go have a look at the pictures. They're worth the clicks.

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory recorded a comet that was discovered on Sept. 30 plunge into the sun on October 1--and create a giant CME on the other side of the sun!
