This book knocked me off my feet. I'll admit, I've spent the last year mostly immersed in easy to read books with some degree of pop sensation (Twilight series, Oprah's Reading List, books being made into movies, etc). This story was rich in plot, historical and culturally enlightening. The characters are flawed enough to be entirely engaging and the snippets of Urdu poetry put it over the top.
