Inspiring video about the only high school team to enter the x-prize competition for fuel efficient vehicles. Good example of project based learning in action.

Rustic lodge (cabins) at the top of Mount LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains. You have to hike to get there, no electricity, it's resupplied by lama train, and it books almost a year in advance! Unique, great place for an overnight.

If you haven't read Little Brother do so. It's classified as teen fiction, but it's also an important book and a good read. The author Neil Gaiman sums it up nicely: "I'd recommend Little Brother over pretty much any book I've read this year, and I'd want to get it into the hands of as many smart 13 year olds, male and female, as I can. Because I think it'll change lives. "

The perfect pop song, written by Steve Van Zandt (of E Street Band, Asbury Jukes, the Sopranos, and Little Steven's Garage fame) for the Cocktail Slippers, a Norwegian all-girl group. Whole album definitely worth a listen.

I seem to love quirky, sadly short-lived shows. At least this one lasted 3 1/2 seasons, and you can still catch the last few episodes. Great characters, very creative (the alternate realities in the Remedial Chaos Theory episode) and the parodies / homages to Glee, Law and Order, and mafia films. Definitely worth checking out.

Very well-done approach for teaching via the web. Still in beta and working out bugs, but I found their "Programming a Robotic Car" course very interesting and educational.
