A good and thoughtful post-apocalypse novel. I like how copper is "mined" from telephone and power lines, and how the 1st post-apocalypse generation values reliable bows (which a survivor teaches them to make well) over guns, with their now very unreliable old ammunition.
If you haven't read Little Brother do so. It's classified as teen fiction, but it's also an important book and a good read. The author Neil Gaiman sums it up nicely: "I'd recommend Little Brother over pretty much any book I've read this year, and I'd want to get it into the hands of as many smart 13 year olds, male and female, as I can. Because I think it'll change lives. "
I seem to love quirky, sadly short-lived shows. At least this one lasted 3 1/2 seasons, and you can still catch the last few episodes. Great characters, very creative (the alternate realities in the Remedial Chaos Theory episode) and the parodies / homages to Glee, Law and Order, and mafia films. Definitely worth checking out.
