An alternative to pads and tampons. It may look weird, but trust me, it's got its advantages, especially when travelling. Why not give it a try?

Con: Menstruation itself. Product can sometimes leak, but less than pads and tampons. Also, not reusable - check www.keeper.com/ for a reusable, but initially more expensive option.

all the goodness of ice cream without the ice.
all the yumminess of frosting without the one-dimensional sugariness.
portable chocolate goodness.

con: apparently, the mix of fats here tends towards the unhealthy

Nutella actually isn't as unhealthy as you might think iirc.

Funny no matter how you look at this.

Much like Charlie Sheen stuff, responses tell more about the viewer than the subject matter itself. I mean, is it any secret that Arnold is a horndog/Sheen's an addict? Their magic lies in convincing others their behavior is/was OK, or that they've changed over time...

Saw this when it first came out. Innovative exploration of the idea that desire and persistence can get you what you want in the end. Also sheds light on the idea of "butterfly wings", that we live in a chaotic system where small variations such as a butterfly flapping its wings in China can have big results such as a tornado in Idaho...

Pro/con (Deutsch-phobia-level-dependent): it's in German

An infographic dissecting the nature and ramifications of Stuxnet, a virus that infected computer systems that run centrifuge machines and the first weapon made entirely out of code.

mix of veggie-proteinized versions of asian favorites (general tso's nuggets...) that meatlovers might even not notice the meat is missing from, and innovative asian-inspired veggie cuisine that I've never found anywhere else.

lunch specials, friendly staff, serenity-inducing environment with sunflower-themed decor.

con: some menu items much better than others

their coffee is roasted on-site!
"small" size is reasonably priced and actually small.
they give free samples of six types of coffee brewed daily and are interested in educating their customers about coffee.
in short - they are true coffee enthusiasts!

con: more a coffee store than a coffee shop, limited seating and closed by 8 or 9 PM - though several people were hanging out there when I visited

Get a new view of WWII with this meticulously researched book about how IBM's machines and corporate profiteering were instrumental in facilitating the Holocaust.

Worried about how all the personal data gathered about you could be used in not-so-innocent ways today? Consider this example of what was actually done with 1940s technology.

Cons: not a light read

versatile, free, open-source way to save not only bookmarks but files, notes; add tags, organize and search any way you want; share across multiple computers; also exports references to auto-generate bibliographies
Cons: only in Firefox, seems like it's a 1.0 version so not a lot of bells and whistles including takes some time to figure out what it can do and how to do it

not too much of a stretch to see the way many of us choose to live as a version of this
a little much for an 11-year-old to absorb, not really for kids.

Very well-done documentary, amazing editing, fast-paced with plot twists. The filmmaker takes you along on an unexpected journey. One of those movies that are completely different on a second viewing, and you will be tempted to watch it more than once if you give it a try.
