They left out a lot from the book, but it was still a good movie overall. I think someone who hadn't read it would still enjoy it.

Watch this movie and enjoy a refreshing exchange of roles from the usual tropes. What's great is that a woman is the lead, and she is not turned into a two dimensional character.

I've seen it twice once before reading the book and thought the movie was alright than watched it again after reading the book and thought the movie was awesome.

a great adaptation. A little less violent than the book, but I suppose they had to make it little nicer for larger audience.
However, it's still a great film.

Great film based upon the book series by Suzanne Collins. Love how they could show various aspects of the game field (like how the control room worked).

When you love a book and get totally engrossed in it;when you make the location one of your "alternate universes"-then the next step is to see it! Panem ,the games and the characters were accurately portrayed - A+ !

this movie was really great, in all respects. little exposition, great acting, great sound design, good directing, consistently stylized, varying intensity, interesting story, etc...

Saw the premiere last night with a bunch of really really excited friends--although I was the odd non-excited one out it was much better than I expected. Jennifer Lawrence is an excellent Katniss. The boring dude who plays Gale can't act though, hopefully he'll get it together by the rest of the series.

This gives me goosebumps. I haven't been this attached to a book series since Harry Potter. I can't wait to hit the theatres this spring!
