Douglas Adams chooses every word perfectly. I avoid reading this when other people are in the room because I feel compelled to read roughly every third paragraph aloud. Brilliant.

Sci fi and comedy all rolled into one! Several zany sequels. (Avoid the movie).
Cons: Ends abruptly. Later found out that Adams missed several deadlines and had no choice but to stop typing.

This book is perfect, imo. Light and fun reading.
Cons: The sequels aren't as good but they aren't terrible. Be careful when going further with the series.
