If you are interested in neuroscience, cognition, psychology, bizarre phenomena or authors featured on TED talks, you should read this fantastic book immediately. Ramachandran is brilliant and insanely witty.

Fascinating book. Ramachandran is mostly concerned here with the problem of phantom limbs--imaginary limbs that remain in the mind of amputees. Often these phantom limbs can be painful. Ramachandran uses his sharp clinical insight to cure phantom limb sufferers, sometimes using nothing more than a mirror. (House steals this trick in an episode of the show).

it is interesting to read about the abnormalities of the brain without having to take a college course in abnormal phsycology to understand it. would love a copy for my collection. I'm bipolar, so for me it's all about understanding and healing.
