Much better acted than the original, but somehow not quite the charm of "The Duke's" version. Glenn Campbell was better than Matt Damon too (and I'm a big fan of Damon).

Outstanding movie. So many levels to enjoy: the story, voice, characters, scenery, costumes, music. It convinces you that you have traveled back in time to witness a dramatic episode in a young girl's life. Oh, one more thing, the trailer is misleading: way off the mark.

This may be the Coen Brothers playing it straight, but it's still got its crazy moments and the journey is compelling.

I haven't seen the original, so I can't make comparisons, but Jeff Bridges plays Cogburn well, and Hailee Steinfeld was deserving of her Oscar nom. Filled with essential western landscapes, which are beautifully shot, that are absolutely necessary to achieving success in the genre.

Another Coen Brothers masterpiece, but certainly not their greatest work.

Impeccably performed by Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Hailee Steinfeld. A small cast shines as they tell a truly gritty story.

Saw this over the weekend. Very very impressed by Haley Steinfeld's acting. Nice to see a young person playing a badass role.

I watched this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I know it received mixed reviews but the acting was amazing and the cinematography was beautiful. A great addition to the Coen Bros roster.
