A quiet, sad, and utterly beautiful artistic accomplishment from Julian Schnabel. Tells the story of Jean-Dominic Bauby, the former editor of Elle, who suffered a sudden stroke and found himself in "locked-in syndrome" upon awakening from a coma, unable to communicate except by blinking one eye. Very far from typical sappy cliche Hollywood fare-a true human story of love, loss, and regret.
