A charming movie that brings to life the city of Paris, as well the greats in art and literature.

Paris is my favorite city and this movie really brings out the city's charm! ;)
mrozencwajg recommended this 1 year, 4 months ago
Best Woody Allen film of late, a meditation on nostalgia that takes us through Paris of the 1920's. Good movie to watch after a breakup..
crossroads recommended this 1 year, 5 months ago
It takes Woody Allen to bring such concepts to life. The movie has some great shots of Paris. If you love literature, you shouldn't miss this movie
tpow recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
Extremely charming. Great for any book nerd.
brycefechner recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
No huge explosions or special effects, just a great story.
dareenhakimcollection recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
Likely the most charming movie I have ever seen. If you are a fan of Paris, particularly Paris in the 1920s, this movie is not to be missed. Everyone dreams of being able to go back in time to meet their idols and here Owen Wilson’s character gets to do that.
Nymeria recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
crazy and romantic ,it didn't grab my attention in the start by the end I loved it-but the idea of time travel was very romantic and different from all I've seen

A great Woody Allen film without Woody Allen. Owen channels him quite a bit however.

I love this movie! It's not too much Woody Allen, but just enough. Funny, romantic, and makes me want to go back to Paris!
alexandraappel recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
a silly, happy, light-hearted movie that would leave anyone who sees it smiling from ear to ear

Midnight is Paris spills over with cinematic beauty, and has you rooting for the protagonist for all the right reasons.
jhg812 recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
Like much of Woody Allen's recent comedic work, "Midnight in Paris" exhibits strong vibes of pro-intellectualism, open-mindedness, and a hint of whimsy. Those themes, amid a brilliantly pensive script and perfect acting, make this one of my favorite films of 2011 so far.
lkitagawa recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
the way these artists and authors are brought to life is amazing! i left wanting to see more of them. not a woody allen fan but really enjoyed this movie.
FarahCandice recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
At some point we've all wished we could travel to a time where we could socialize with our idols. Here, Owen Wilson's character gets that chance.

robj recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
Possibly the best film of the 21st century (although I feel I was born in the wrong time) and certainly Mr. Allen's best work since Manhattan.
rajivrao1 recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
A good reminder of why Woody Allen is the master.
michelle_pardes recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
Loved visiting Paris, birth place of my mother. Also loved how Woody Allen taps into our minds and makes us think as to what time we would have loved to live in.
On a personal note, having completed and published my book, I totally related to the emotions one has when choosing the "right word" or phrase" to help your book read better.
In conclusion, the movie was visually beautiful and real!
jazebaze recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
Maaan! I just watched a beautiful movie featuring Hemingway, Picasso, Fitzgerald, Dali and Owen Wilson as a lovable laid back drifter in Paris.
Chaosmavin recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago

matthandlersux recommended this 1 year, 10 months ago
this movie has a lot going for it. classic woody allen situations, plus he finally managed to find a youngish actor who can mimic his neuroses (surprisingly)—that plus a really clever and fun story and structure. lots to love. i lots to loved it.
also i'm very knowledgeable about the subject, as you can tell by my multiple paragraphs and tone ;?j.
one more line for good measure.

1) youtube has audio of a classic Woody Allen stand-up called the Lost Generation. You can see how it was the pre-cursor for Midnight...
2) Make a sequel just with the Hemingway and Dali characters please

An amazing movie, pretty hilarious. Some scenes, mainly the beginning, remembered me of Manhattan.
lionmother recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
This is a couple of hours in the middle of a delightful adventure with familiar historical figures from the art and literature world. I felt I was in each period and ,if course, it's a Woody Allen movie so there are some unusual twists. I was captivated by the story and had a smile on my face for most of the movie and walked out smiling. I would see it again. It is a must see for everyone:)
bbrownnewcollege recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
Seems to be a great Woody Allen movie.

Original and inventive. A " live in the present" theme.
Must see for dreamers.
angott.al recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
A clever and fun film about Paris, and a love for the past. More comedy than romance (especially if you know the cast of characters). Owen Wilson was great, Corey Stoll was a fantastic Hemingway, and Tom Hiddleston was a simply adorable Fitzgerald (a complete jump from Loki in Thor).
ckruczynski recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
El tiempo pasado siempre fue mejor. La nostalgia tratada de manera muy elegante en una ciudad que te arropa con su belleza. Cómo vemos las grandes e inspiradoras ciudades cuando no pertenecemos a ella.
Past times are always better than the present. Nostalgia treated in a very elegant way in a city that wraps you with its beauty. How we perceive a big and inspiring city when we are simply aliens.
tom recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
The best Woody Allen movie I've seen since his golden age. Owen Wilson was great and Hemingway's performance was exactly what you would expect.
bdlocks recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
fun and enchanting woody allen flick.
georges recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
The latest Woody Allen movie! The camera work, the dialogues, the slightly neurotic characters, plus a few “temporal twists”, and a well-illustrated reflexion of the golden age metaphor — what not to love?
amanda-moritz recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
This movie was hilarious. Just make sure you get to the theater early so you can sit down next to the person you go with.
amanda-moritz commented 1 year, 11 months ago
we waited for the next showing so we could sit together.
georges commented 1 year, 11 months ago
That sounds like the best thing to do. What theater was it? I went to Angelika on a Monday night and there was some seats left.
amanda-moritz commented 1 year, 11 months ago
i went to angelika too. i believe last thursday at 10:15 but then moved it to 10:45pm. still so crowded.
georges commented 1 year, 11 months ago
Hopefully the movie was good enough to make it all worth it.
kevinakwok commented 1 year, 11 months ago
I was at the angelika as well, super crowded. It also took me longer than it should have to realize that the rumbling was not from the film.
kevinakwok recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
Charming film. I didn't think I'd like a film about literary and artistic figures of the 1920's but it was hilarious and definitely worth seeing.
arkajit recommended this 1 year, 11 months ago
Ever wonder what it would have been like to live in the "golden age" of writing, art, physics, mathematics? Wished you could have hobnobbed with Fitzgerald and Hemingway, painted with Da Vinci and Michelangelo, discovered the laws of physics with Einstein, or proved math theorems with Gauss? This is the story about that. Highly recommend to anyone who likes sentimental, off-beat character pieces.
gleitz commented 1 year, 11 months ago
Been meaning to catch this movie (I'm a big Owen Wilson fan). saved!
