I'm not a fan of F1 racing at all, but I found this doc gripping. Senna makes a fascinating and complex hero. There are nasty villains. There's dramatic tension and heroism and tragedy. It's an incredible story.
I was never a huge fan of formula one racing until I saw Ayrton Senna driving. His personality, his genius, his strength, his talent have been inspiring and sometimes breathtaking. This is a beautiful documentary film on his life, its true and real, simply great.
Senna is a 2010 documentary film that depicts the life and death of Brazilian motor-racing champion, Ayrton Senna. It is Asif Kapadia's fourth feature film as director, and is distributed by Working Title/Universal Pictures.
I had never heard of Ayrton Senna, the F1 racecar driver, nor have I ever had any interest in racing at all. This film is made entirely from historical footage and tells the story of Brazilian racecar driver Senna. In a corrupt, political, and elitist sport, Senna shone and was admired worldwide. At the end of this film, you will be amongst his admirers.
