Great dialogue, a complex yet understandable plot and a interesting combination of backdrops, characters and storylines make this an enjoyable movie. If you enjoyed Catcher in the Rye, Memento or any R. Chandler books, you might enjoy this!

Excellent modern noir, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt starts to show that he is capable of many different characters.

Lovely noir film. It's surprisingly set in a high school!

A clever film, a really clever film. Brings the forlorn, classic conventions of film noir into a teenage high-school drama in a stylish manner. Laced with fairly dark humour and at times a pastiche, tongue-in-cheek tone, it's well worth checking out.

Though the slang is hard to follow at first, the movie really stands out as an interesting and thoughtful modern take on the noir genre. All of the characters are excellent, and the story will leave you wondering even after the credits roll.

Brilliantly conceived and well executed film noir with a twist--set in high school! Doesn't sound like it should work, but is riveting from start to finish. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is excellent in this movie about a high school loner who investigates the murder of his ex-girlfriend and must work his way up the social food chain to uncover whodunnit.

Inspired in part by the works of Sergio Leone and Cowboy Bepop, Brick is a Neo-Noir classic that showcases some of the best hardboiled dialogue of the 21st century. Thought-provoking, Brick engages its viewers from start to finish. Five stars.

One of the best movies of all time... it is noir, but noir at its ultimate best. With vivid characters and a compelling story that will keep you riveted.... I simply cannot recommend this movie enough.

A modern, sunny California, high-school film noir—hilarious, engaging, suspenseful… Brick has it all.

I liked this the first time I saw it. Then I IRL-recommended it to some friends and watched it with them and it didn't seem as good. So watch out!
