Ridiculously good movie. Is currently holding #1 on my favorite movie list. The movie is fairly simple, time travel, but the story is so complex it defiantly takes at least 2 watches and some reading/research on the internet :D The best part is that it doesn't include any children inappropriate material either.

Such a movie. NO Sci-Fi came closer to Primer in 2000s and it still holding its spot. Such a story told in a such and simple way. You can't come by that well thought time-travel movie every day or every decade.

Great story, great puzzle, and no reliance on special effects

Unbelievable how good a movie can be made with a minimalist $ 7k budget! Primer celebrates entrepreneurial garage science and digs deep into the ethical problems of time-travelling (don't worry, not that sci-fi, just think about the budget constraints of this film..). Smart and gives food for thought. Won the Sundance Film Festival Grand Prix 2004 - a nomination well earned.

Great time travel sci fi film. Lower budget so special effects are not what its all about. Great tech start-up feel.

the depiction of accidental invention in this movie is really cool.

Requires multiple viewings to understand completely. Awesome if you love time travel and paradoxes.

Best type of Jedi mind-trickery, on a budget!

This really is a dramatically under-rated sci-fi movie. Amazing what they did with special effects (or much of a budget at all) etc.

A movie that should be seen a few times, to catch the small stuff if nothing else

the way time travel works in this movie was super clever and handled really well

If you love twisty uncertain movies (Mulholland Drive, 2001) or smart scifi (The Matrix, Blade Runner), put this one your list. Oh, but you say you like indie street cred? Shane Carruth wrote, directed, produced, edited, composed, everything'd this movie for just $7,000. "Primer" has it all. Plus, you will spend a day reading sites online that explain what you just saw.

a mindfuck of a movie. One of the most pure scifi experiences I've seen in a long time. I've seen it 3 times I'm still not sure I have everything clear.

An awesome, just awesome low budget Sci-Fi film. I've almost never had a movie blow my mind like this one, and if you've watched it once - you'll have to watch it again, to get it's finer points, though it's pretty hard to understand. I reccomend googling for a Primer Timeline, it helped me sort things out a little better!

One of the most interesting movies in years, and a fantastic example great science fiction that is not focused on special effects.

Everybody should watch this movie. If you don't understand it, that's fine. You probably won't. But if you do, You might just find yourself looking at possibility in whole new ways...
