These short stories beautifully depict the nuanced struggle of being a "hyphenated" American. As a first generation Korean-American, I can easily relate to the cultural identity issues the characters face. These stories show that it doesn't matter if we're from different worlds; we're all human and we deal with similar hurts and struggles. The stories resonated with me long after I had read them.
