Awesome upgrade for a D90 user. The image quality and low-light performance are pretty amazing.

The D7000 has marked a transition for me into the world of videography. These days I take as much, if not more videos then pictures.

It's an excellent camera and I would say its good enough to compete against Canon on the video offerings.

Very low noise images. Compatible with all your old lenses.

As an owner, I have found this to be a very solid product from Nikon and should be at the top of the list for serious amateur DX sensor photographers. Imaging and focus are excellent. Weight is good without being too heavy. If I am hiking somewhere special, this is the camera I grab if I want spectacular shots.
Cons: different battery from previous Nikons

Equals or beats its more expensive brother the D300S. All new sensor really pushes the envelope at this price. Very solid in hand. Full 1080p video with autofocus. Advanced AF for this price too
