The book series is much better than the movie versions. Each book can stand on its own, though there are connections between them. C.S. Lewis is a brilliant writer of fantasy. He gets you into his worlds without the extreme tedium found in other's fantasy works. He said he wrote it for children...I just don't think so. Children will certainly enjoy it, adults even more so. Very highly recommended.

I really liked the last two books, "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle," but reading the entire series makes for a great overall Narnian picture.
