Solid macro-view of success stories by a visionary author. Gladwell's one of the better social commentators of this era.

I have to hand it to Mr. Gladwell, this is a good book. I recommend this book to anyone interested in how genius is made.

Very nice and refreshing book. It studies outliers enough to bring forth a pattern that weaves through them. It also gives humility to success, however hard earned it may look. It reminds us also that no man is an island, and we all owe our success to the giants that walked before us, on whose shoulders humbly we stand. Excellent book

Discusses the topics of how certain people stand out from statistical norms. Tackles such things as why many Jews are doctors and lawyers, why many Asians excel at math, how programmers like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs managed to do so well in life, and much more.

This explains so much about how people become successful. Is it luck of the draw, i.e., when you are born? Is it hard work? Is it both--and more?

Offers a fresh look into success and avoid the "bestest" speech.

A fantastic book that reads like a research paper - except the average person can understand it. Looks at statistical data and questions the usual assumptions about what makes a person successful.

Love this book. So many aha moments in it. As a tiger-mom trying to "create outlier" children so many of the examples make perfect sense. Validated some of my parenting methods which always makes me feel better! Easy and fast read.

Sometimes being on the mainstream has its advantages. Yet, other times positioning yourself on the far side of the bell curve also has its advantages, and as the book shows maybe even more than being on the centre.
Don't be afraid to stuck out from the crowd.
O yeah, try to schedule your sons and daughters birthday six month before kindergarten entry.

Great investigative look at why some succeed, only partly within your control.

Excellent book on how the apparent overnight-success of men and women is actually a combination of luck and hard work.

Eye-opening portrayal of how success is not entirely talent and/or ability based. Contains lots of support for his ideas and reasoning. The largest point Gladwell displays is the idea that many great successes were both a combination of being in the right place at the right time while spending large amounts of time on that successful task.

Outliers turns IQ on its head (no pun intended) showing how trends of ones upbringing can have a larger influence on success.

A really insightful, easy to read illustration on how success develops and why you may or may not want it.

So if I work real hard at something for 5 years I'll be above average at it from then on... Wow
Good reading - like all his stuff.
Cons: Good tends to get rewarded until better - what else is new?

Very interesting. Easy to understand.
Cons: Not for people who only like fiction.

Like all Malcolm Gladwell books, has interesting anecdotes.
Cons: Not sure the overall thesis is nearly as counter-intuitive or interesting as the author would like to believe.
