With gorgeous yamato-e water color visuals, ingenious gameplay mechanics, loveable characters, a story steeped in Japanese Shinto legends, and a surprising amount of longevity, Okami is without a doubt THE most underrated and overlooked title in the history of video games.
If there's one title every gamer (and game designer) should be required to play, it is Okami.
fantastic storytelling, great graphics from the creators of Viewtiful Joe, good mix of puzzle and action, thought-provoking and full of wonderment. Cons: don't play the PS2 version first or you'll be disappointed now and again. you might want to turn wiimote sensitivity down in the wii menu. my mom hates it cause it's not historically accurate (pfft).
With Okami for the Wii, the controls fit very well—better than the PS2. The visuals are great and there is a pretty good storyline. Cons: At times, the motions you try aren't registered and the game will read a bit slowly. The opportunity to grab demon fangs during load screens was scrapped between the PS2 and Wii versions.
