Best web-based email client ever. Great integration for mobile, easy to use, reliable, just awesome.

I've used Gmail for 8 years now and have never once considered moving anywhere else. There's a reason smaller email clients use the Gmail interface for their email.

Best web-based email client I've ever used. Great customization options, too.

FREE!, useful and great integration.

The only email client you'll ever need. It's nice that there are no rich media ads like on Yahoo and other mail clients, you can customize everything from functionality (with Labs) to the colors and background (with Themes), and having everything in the cloud and connected to your Google account gives you seamless access to all of Google's cloud products.

I have tried a few emails from different providers, this one was a keeper.

Gmail is the best email service out there, period.
magnumi recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
Propably the best free webmail out there. Clean, crisp interface and functionality that you can customize to your needs. Robust search function, priority, labeling, support for many file-formats and integrates nicely to other Google products. Highly recommended also as an professional email account using the "Apps for business"-plan.

Free. Wonderful. Easy. Just three words to sum up the insane amount of greatness that Gmail provides.

The best free webmail just keeps getting better. Spend some time tweaking the options and creating filtering rules, and your email efficiency can get a dramatic boost.
The downside is giving even more of your personal data for Google to access...
survivor1126 recommended this 1 year, 8 months ago
This gives you nice creditability that other email providers like Hotmail and AOL simply don't have.

Take my data, Google - I love you!!

Gmail blocks spam so much better than other email services. It's also got a highly effective filtering system so that you can quickly and easily access the emails you actually want to see/read.
oabbas recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
I love the simplicity, unlimited space, and the best spam blocker out there.
Great email service, don't know why anyone would use any other site.
jmlane recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago

It's got everything you could need, and it can be used with Microsoft Outlook. Plus, it's free.

Email before gmail? I often can't even remember such a time--I'm convinced my mind is blocking the horrible memories.

A good way to store, send, and recive messages. I love how you can change backgrounds to fit your taste.

Helpful organization of e-mail threads into "conversations", keeps track of past chat logs for easy access. That last feature is excellent for general blackmailing and "I told you so" moments.
Cons: Ads are eerily well-targeted, but I guess that's what makes Google, Google. What's with the Beta tag?
sushimustwrite recommended this 3 years, 4 months ago
Labels/tags are much better than folders. This plus an archive have helped me reach my inbox zero goal.
Cons: There's no way to unthread threads.
forlornturtle recommended this 3 years, 8 months ago
Conversations work like a charm, and I'm finding the idea of labels much better than plain old folders. Also has some cool features like suggesting recipients and undoing sending.
Cons: The user interaction is a bit awkward in places (e.g. around contacts) and the visual design is still quite plain and web-y.
Occasional outages can be frustrating.
pk_joa recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
It is simply the best.
Cons: None!
mossisen recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
Clean interface without bloatage. Huge inbox size, you don't have to delete anything ever. Threaded conversations. Integrates with other Google services.
Cons: Ads are generated from e-mail content.
chris_thomson recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
Lots of storage space, integration with other Google services. Spam reporting actually works. Filtering works well.
Cons: IMAP support isn't the greatest.
joseph recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
very user friendly and the messages are threaded. theyre threaded! also, it has an easy chat and task client.
Cons: the labs are getting out of hand and it can crash your browser.
bjtitus recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
The best email client available. Being able to check your email anywhere in the same high quality, rich interface is invaluable and Google's novel approach to handling email is extraordinary.
Cons: Sometimes not always working correctly (it is in Beta). Occasionally has stability issues.
alpineedge3 recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
conversations (threading), useful search syntax, IMAP if you need it
Cons: contextual ads. but it's free and from google, what do you expect
chris recommended this 4 years, 1 month ago
I use gmail exclusively now. Now my whole life is cloud based.
Cons: Seems to hang a fair amount lately. Security is a concern.
thudson recommended this 4 years, 2 months ago
Great variety of on-line web applications, and iGoogle has all kinds of clever and entertaining widgetry.
Cons: generates some pretty silly/invasive targeted advertising based on your e-mails.
