Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

Strong release for early in this console generation, Resistance does well to play off tired WW II plots and create a story that, while not wholly original, keeps players entertained. Weapons are standard shooting fare, but interesting secondary firing modes keep combat somewhat enthralling if only slightly deterred by a lack of "cover system" its competitors employ.
All-around solid PS3-exclusive

You know the guys who made Ratchet and Clank are going to have fun weapons, and it those keep the game from being so blasted same-y.

very fun shooter game. use a broad range of guns, some riding in tanks and other vehicles, blasting strange mutant/aliens.
Cons: very linear. only one path to follow basically through the whole game. limited "world"
