You should have notifications for followup comments on your recommendations, similar to facebook.

Also, can I just say, from playing with the redesign a little bit already, the engagement is surprising! Maybe a real social network for talking about things other than meta. :)

You should be getting email notifications about comments, saves, and re-recommendations of the things you recommend when it's from a person that is following you. Could your notifications be disabled under your account settings?
