Makes fun of everything with witty dialogue, snark, lighthearted zaniness, and social commentary. The main characters are a cross-section of American demographics who are in a study group together at a college where the faculty are even more psychologically unstable than the students. The cast must really have a blast playing their roles. One of the few shows I can watch again and again.

Interesting point of view - this fantasy is told from the point of view of the demon bound to serve the protagonist. The setting has some things in common with Harry Potter, but is taken in a different direction, and it feels more dangerous.

Well-researched historical setting though larger than life: this manga is a lot like Rurouni Kenshin except with vikings instead of samurai. The main character is a slave crew member of a band of viking mercenaries. They participate in a number of historical battles in France and England; giving the reader an exciting fictional tour of the rise of Cnut the Great.

Fallout's biggest influence and a pioneer of computer RPGs. Many obstacles could be overcome in multiple ways, and there is enough variety that is has a lot of replay value that most modern CRPGs don't have. It is still so well regarded today that the kickstarter for Wasteland 2 reached its goal of $1 million in funding within 48 hours.

A modern adaptation in 1920s style. A horror movie that appeals to the imagination instead of explicitly showing everything. The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society really outdid themselves with this project.
Cons: the artificial grain and dirt added to the movie is distracting, especially when it repeats.

Very well balanced, takes a lot of planning, interactive. Money management is important. Models supply and demand well.
Cons: Waiting for your turn.
Takes about two hours to play, and longer with new players.

Shows a lot of the process of creating a manga - writing, drawing, finishing, rough drafts, meetings with the editor, getting published, and so forth. Engaging characters and silly humor.

Can just drag mp3s to the drive without having to use the utility. Can rate and delete songs in the portable player. Expandable with microSD. Long battery life. Lots of bang for the buck.
Cons: Video capability is kind of pointless on such a small screen.

Intelligent, existential science fiction with a look at humanity's relationship with the cosmos and the loneliness of space. The occasional humor flows naturally and causes nodding smiles rather than guffaws.
