Pretty cool documentary by the non-profit, Flying Kites, in conjunction with Goodmaker Films. The Oasis Festival will unite the orphaned children of Nairobi’s slums with Kenyan pop stars.

Pretty cool approach @NewportFolkFest took on Instagram, taking a visual storytelling approach of it's history leading up to next weekend's festival with the Decemberists, Gogol Bordello & more.

Google's answer to Instagram, under the disguise of Slide - a company they purchased last year. Interesting to see no Droids in the video - strictly iPhones. Though Instagram has a special place in my heart, I'm excited to take part in the private beta. This has legs...

Visual storytelling of the over consumption of oil. Simply beautiful animation - I hope the non-believers watch this. It's rather simple to make small changes that will improve everyone's quality of life.

Amazing Instagram desktop app with a beautiful UX. View your feed, popular photos, comment, like etc. without opening another browser window. Growl notifications are a nice touch, but the beauty is viewing full resolution photos in full screen AND saving directly into iPhoto with 1 hover.

Not more than 2 hours ago, I asked myself why QR codes aren't more customizable for brands. Paperlinks is Y-Combinator's response to my thoughts. Essentially, you have design flexibility and can include your brand's logo. The option to drive viewers to a custom landing page and a robust analytics system is where I see the real value.

How have I only discovered him now? A true artist with a distinctive voice, performing an eclectic mix of gypsy ballads, jazz, folk, classical and rock. Excited to see him at tonight's free Celebrate Brooklyn concert in Prospect Park.

Ingredients: One part Mark Farina, one part Disco Biscuits, and a splash of dub step. I got into this DJ out in Colorado a few years back - awesome to see him headlining many major summer music fests, including next week's Gov. Ball.

Well-executed, helmetless crashes in response to the recent NYPD bike crackdown. He'll get my vote for best comedy next awards season.

Happy 85th birthday, Miles. This is jazz legends making jazz perfection. Early Miles album with deep grooves provided by Sonny Rollins, Milt Jackson, Monk, Horace Silver, Percy Heath & Kenny Clarke. This was the first studio recording where Miles used the Harmon mute. And for your next trivia game: "Bags" was Milt Jackson's nick name.

NYC street photography exhibit at the Humanities & Social Sciences Library Stokes Gallery. A great exhibit about a special time in history when photographers made pictures out of love for the medium.
