Llamabeats is a group out of Miami, Florida. Being that Grooveshark is based out of Florida we like to keep our ear to the streets on anything local that goes on around here. Upon doing so we've been fortunate to be working with this band Llamabeats. This is their first studio album and we are nothing short of impressed. Keep an eye on these llamas.
Over here at Grooveshark HQ Tiny Victories is our new favorite band. This album has been on rotation nonstop since it came out a little bit ago. Give this one a listen, their indie/synth pop vibes are too encapsulating to miss. Pro Tip: Lost Weekend is our favorite song.
Two years after their unmissable album "What doesn’t kill you" United Fools are back in 2012 debuting their new album "Human Projects". With a fusion of jazz, world music, cinematic trip-hop, psychedelic rock and hip-hop, United Fools act as a creative group fighting against the standardization of music. Solid stuff.
With rap and hip hop music constantly evolving MondreMAN (part of the duo Main Attrakionz) seems to break more boundaries. With smooth ambient beats and a laidback flow this album is one of Grooveshark's recent favorites. Keep an eye on this guy, with production from some of the best underground producers and backing from popular artists, his career is just beginning.
Rapsody is a female rapper who finds inspiration from the likes of Michael Jackson, 9th Wonder, Mos Def and Lauryn Hill which you can feel after giving her material a good listen. It’s been a huge year for her with this album "For Everything" being her third solo album and from the looks of it there seems to be no end in sight for the hungry rapper. Stream the brand new album asap!
Work Drugs is a sedative-wave/smooth-fi group and makes music specifically for dancing, boating, yachting, sexting, and living. The music on “Aurora Lies” has the ability to take you to roof deck sunsets and feel the energy of where Work Drugs found their inspiration. Listen to the whole CD, very good.
Kyle Lucas is an Atlanta based rapper who is also in the band Vonnegutt. His solo side project dubbed Purple Cloud Thoughts showcases his ability to rap outside of the box and portrays his eclectic style. Keep an eye on him and Vonnegutt, they have a different sound that is hard to ignore.
Grooveshark just recently had a stage at Deluna Music Festival in Pensacola, Florida. We were lucky enough to have these guys play our stage. The live show is absolutely incredible and if you have a chance don't miss them! A lot of energy, loud music, and people dancing.
Some great indie electro from the city of Chicago. Some of us on the Grooveshark team just got back from Chicago and these guys killed it at Northcoast Music Fest. The music is made to dance to. Also check out their song ghost and the Hey Champ remix of it!
