A good translation, but perhaps not the best. (BTW, I own this particular translation and edition.) Necessary reading, a "Great Book" (as selected by Mortimer Adler and the Great Books Foundation). If you're a Christian, I'd recommend reading the commentary on NE by St. Thomas Aquinas.
BTW, the best philosophical discourse on friendship is to be found in NE, "Book" VIII and "Book" IX.

Great magazine, but the web site, Cooksillustrated.com is a better buy. I refer to it (the web site) a few times each week! BTW, everything in the magazine is on the web site.

Mark Bittman's books are fantastic. His video podcast, well, that's another story. But this book, like his others (and I own most of them), is superb. I'm not a vegetarian, but I use this book to get ideas for cooking vegetables -- and I cook a lot of vegetables.

This is one of my "must have" books (of any genre). For cooking basics, practice using the instructional videos on Rouxbe. For recipes, I like Cooksillustrated.com the best. And if you're looking for just a handful of easy recipes, just follow the videos on StartCooking.com (simple stuff like pork chops, chicken stir fry, scallops, shrimp scampi, even Tex-Mex cheeseburgers).

A classic. Nothing more needs to be said.

Nice idea, but hardly my "top 10". Three stars for the concept. BTW, "top 10" across cultures and age groupings? Really? Yeah, right ...

Goes along well with the philosophy book, "On Courage" by Geoffrey Scarre.

So right, yet so wrong, too. And no mention of the word, "Internet," although it certainly existed. (Of course, the web didn't exist back then.)

Exactly where we need to go with chaotic systems in general. As a Fisher-Pry and Lotka-Volterra "fan," is was nice to see the "Predator/Prey" example.

Excellent feature on Stuxnet. Expect much more malware focused on industrial control systems.

This is a classic by Don Norman. Want to understand reasons behind Apple's success? Then read this; I'm sure Jobs has (and he doesn't seem to read very much).

Great discussion on the "Ladder of Love."
