Elegant pan-Mediterrian food on the Upper West Side. We had the prix fix lunch of several small plates which was a nice way to try many things on the menu.

Good for when you're looking for something nice for a special occasion. Burrata with grilled asparagus, mushroom risotto, gnocchi with duck confit and the grilled steak were all excellent. Extensive wine list as well.

Good food (for an airline), helpful crew, decent website, wireless and usually on time. I know it sounds pretty basic but they're way ahead of Delta or United.

Yes, this is the Wyndham's hotel restaurant on 24th st. But, it's far better than I would have expected. I had the fennel and orange salad, spaghetti carbonara, lamb chops and finally a chocolate cake.

Sounds good, I’ve walked past it, but never been in. I might have to remedy that.

I usually notice motion blur or generally odd looking motion on LED/LCD TVs. Not so with this one. Great color and brightness too as well as a slime profile and light weight. Very low power draw and radiated heat.

One of the funniest things I've seen on Tumblr. "I'd tap your Watergate." "I know something else that trickles down." "It's too bad you're not Europe and I'm not Marshall, 'cause I'd send you a big care package." The list goes on...

Decent single player version of the board game of the same name. Try to corner the modern art market and make a killing defining what's hot each season. No pass around or internet multiplayer unfortunately.

I too am addicted to Ticket to Ride, and the Carcassonne iPad app. They are some of the most enjoyable German style board games ported to the iPad. Fun solo, with a friend, or online.

Trendy modern Californian food served in a great building just off the main square. I'm a pretty big carnivore, but our local friends recommended the off-menu daily vegetarian special which was phenomenal.

Casual italian right on the square in Healdsburg. Excellent food that mostly all comes from the immediate area. Only downside is there's only one outside table.

Very good italian food, great casual setting (especially on the patio near the fireplaces) and reasonable price given it's Yountville.

Great read and I loved the authenticity...even if it was self serving.

That's great. I think maybe server admins needs a spot of their own on here with a banner that says "nothings changed on the server(s)...90% of all issues are code..."

For aviation buffs, this is a really interesting collection of aircraft (some which came into production, some which never did) from Boeing.

Twitter released an open source parallel stream processing system. It's sort of real-time Hadoop. Instead of batch processing lots of data, Storm is designed to make it easy to build a pipeline of processing steps that execute reliably across many cores / servers. As each piece of data comes in it's run through the pipeline.

I bought this on Saturday and have been having fun playing the computer players. It's a pretty fast game to learn and a typical game is only about 30 - 45 minutes so it's not too long. I can't say it's the best turn based strategy game out there, but it's certainly a solid addition to my gaming library.
