I'll be honest with you: this book, unabridged, is huge. I read it because I'm a little bit stubborn about not liking to read abridgments, but that might be the wiser way to go for most people. You can cut 200 pages and lose nothing important; after that you have to start compromising. Abridged or unabridged, though, it's Victor Hugo's masterpiece and one of the greatest books ever written.

Fast, secure, good quality, free software, standards-compliant. Microsoft's browser is neither of the five.

A REALLY good question at lifehacker, about how to prevent eyestrain, when working a lot with computers.

It's one of the best shell providers I know of. I'm using anapnea now due to recent downtimes, but still it remains my favorite.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Best movie of all time.

Linux > * > Windows, in my not so humble opinion.
First OS that I used that doesn't die after 6 months, like windows does.
Doesn't get slower, doesn't get viruses, is free.

I remember the classic Disney flick, but don't think I ever read the original story behind it

Ben Folds is one of my favorite musicians.
Definitely better than some other 'artists' whom I don't wanna name.
It's good that people like him exist.

I too am a longtime ben folds fan. Love that he makes the live shows such an engaging experience. Great showmanship and musicianship.

It teaches about how computers work.
You get a much deeper understanding of computers,at an almost intuitive level.
Definitely not good as first programming language.
Also it's the canonical language for viruses. And this makes it fascinating.

It's great. HTML+CSS+PHP is enough to start making simple websites.

My parents saw one of these in Brooklyn about a week ago, complete with fake Flux Capacitor and blasting B2TF soundtrack.
