Made nearly 15 years ago, its political truths are no less powerful today than they were when it was originally filmed. Belongs in the same category as "The Candidate" and the recent "The Ides of March." Absolutely a cynical, well done film.

Ray Sharkey made a smashing memorable debut in this film, as did Tovah Feldsuh (seen in later years on several Law & Order episodes). Memorable, driven film.

If you've not seen it but only heard of it, watch it. This American tragedy hasn't changed in the two decades since it was released. And it's still entertaining as hell.

A sweet, beautiful film with what must be rated as among Jeff Bridges' best performances. He made his totally alien "alien" all too human. See it.

A film so good it hurts. Can we really love anyone? Can we really allow anyone to love us? I never read the book bi Philip Roth--I understand it's quite brutal--but the nuanced personal performances of both Sir Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz are very much worth seeing. The ending is problematic, but so is life. (Sorry to be so evasive, but when you see it you'll understand my comment better.)

One of the most haunting films ever made, matched by Mark Isham's brilliant music score. I only wish the sound track recording had the sound of the howling wolves that make the score in the film so eerie..and appropriate.

What a superb, quirky film, with one of the best haunting songs of the era: Bob Telson's "Calling You." Not to be missed.

It's an iconoclastic film, and still plays well. Worth the seeing.

For rooms with no windows, this could be an interesting idea. The issue is whether users only have a choice of a fluorescent-light-like light source, or if you can warm up the lighting with a sunlight look. Even better, if you could alter the background to reflect the time of that, that could be a winner. If it's just fluorescents, then . . . nahhh.
