Apr 5, 2009Fine performances from Fishburne and Weaving. The effects still hold up. Some measure of subversive politics that was lost in the sequels.
Keanu Reeves is so unsympathetic that I always root for the agents.

The action scenes are incredibly well done, the special effects are great and the story's original.
Some people may find the plot too convoluted and/or confusing.

Great movie. You can't mock the logic of the movie, bacause YOU are in the matrix.
Skip the sequels. Or fast-forward between the action scenes in the sequels.

THE movie of our times. A weird yet amazing blend of sci-fi and Zen philosophy. A movie that can be seen over and over again. And again. And again.
Fishburne's lines are awesome.Keanu Reeves is deadpan man.
And yea, I too say, the sequels match up. They fall behind by a mile. Or two. Or a hundred. -
