Tall Ships, a band that got a great reception on here a few months back.
One of those bands still doing tiny gigs and festival appearances just ready to become massive.
Go and see them before it happens.

Brilliantly told story about a man with amnesia who is in a race against time (and a shark composed entirely of language of memories)to discover who he is, what happened to him, and why he is prey for a terrifying virtual predator. Mind-bending and surprisingly deep novel that is an absolute must read for anyone interested in language and its implications. One of the best books I've read in years.

Here's my favorite new music find from the CMJ festival so far.
He was born in 1994 (!) and he's got the swagger and performing confidence of a veteran.
Also, his mom was in the audience, which is adorable.

Great classic novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson. I'll try not to show bias as I am distantly related to him by saying that the book is somewhat anticlimactic however throughly enjoyable and detailed throughout.
I especially like the vivid image given of Pew, the blind old beggar.

A timeless barrage of wisdom and metaphors leaving you fulfilled within your mortality.
A book that helped me to accept death. Maybe a high claim but true all the same.
Read this book over and over to get the true wealth of the text.

A somewhat colloquial insight into US politics specifically aimed at George Bush and co but hammering in the sincerity of the message to get these bastards out of office.

A beautifully written novel offering so much more than the film adaptations. The depiction and later narration of the monster CREATED by Frankenstein is wonderful and puts a whole new perspective on your surroundings and fortune.

Third album by Bombay Bicycle Club.
It combines the best of 'Flaws' and 'I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose', with additional synths, samples, reverb, and layered vocals, making for a richer sound and atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

"Happy medium, indeed. Do you know 'happy medium' are two words which mean 'miserable mediocrity'? I say, go first class or third; marry a duchess or her kitchenmaid. The happy medium means respectability, and respectability means insipidness"

Received one for my 21st and have found it a brilliant substitution for the real deal. With hundreds of free books online I haven't stopped reading.

A story giving dimension and comprehension in loss and love. Set in the turmoil of the unrest in Afghanistan.

An engaging film and novel which constantly breaks the fourth wall communication between viewer and cast.
Centered around Rob Gordon's (coincidently my name hah) relationship with on and off girlfriend Laura and subsequently all relationships preceding this with a sombre and dry attitude, which often leaves you agreeing with his not so romantic view that is often too easy to relate too.
