Excellent coffee and friendly staff in a town awash with Starbucks. If you ever find yourself in Campbell for a business trip or whatever, I highly recommend stopping by for a pour-over cup of Dominion. The espresso is tasty too.

I know I'm late to the party, but this is the best app I've purchased for my mac in a loooong time. The browser extensions that automatically ask you to save logins and populate/submit logins triggered by a keystroke actually *WORK*. This app has changed my (online) life.

My girlfriend and I went last monday for the classic prix fixe. Totally lives up to the hype (nymag best restaurants listing, etc). The food was amazing, especially the gnocchi with pastrami ragu. The menu changes weekly. There are two dinner options: classic prix fixe and a chef's tasting menu. Get a table now!

Have you ever had a snap break on a jacket or vest and wondered where you can go to get it fixed? Wonder no more!

A snap broke on a Penfield vest that I received as a gift. Star Snaps put a new one on for me in 2 minutes for $1.50. Before finding this place, I called cleaners/tailors in my 'hood and they quoted me a price 10x more and weeks of time to get it fixed.

Montreal-based Anglo-Asian prog rock. Psychedelic, catchy, and occasionally jammy music created by a band fronted by two women. Just listen.

An electro-pop concept album loosely based on life of John DeLorean by Gruff Rhys (from Super Furry Animals) and Boom Bip. One of my favorite albums from the last 10 years. The songs are super catchy and the references to DeLorean's life are fascinating. One highlight: "Michael Douglas," a song about when DeLorean redesigned his own chin while sitting at pool parties in LA with Michael Douglas.

Great looking toggle jacket. Had my eye on it all fall, but I successfully resisted the urge to buy it. Those in warmer climates should still give it a look.

A Digable Planets vet (Ishmael Butler) and friends explore some pretty crazy sonic landscapes. The results are impressive and completely unique. I started on Swerve but subsequently got obsessed with the whole album.

Hill Country (the region) is hardly known for it's fried chicken, but the chicken is soooo good here I'll give them a pass. Definitely try the Chickwich, which is as good or better than the chick-fil-a original rendition.

Marc Ribot's crazy jazz fusion band's debut album. Marc has been a collaborator with John Zorn, Tom Waits, and Elvis Costello, but this is his first time leading his own trio. I use the term "jazz fusion" lightly. This music here is all over the map. The only constant is Marc's fantastic guitar work. Too noisy/jammy/avant-garde for many, but I love this.

Fantastic mediterranean brunch. The line is long every sunday, but if you wait 'til later in the day or kill sometime at Gorilla, it's worth it.

A public space installation putting a giant gmap-style pin in the real world created by an artist in Germany. The coolest part is the shadow it casts in the real world, just like the ones in Google maps do.
