A perceptive book about how modern day Iran came to be and what it was like to grow up in that environment for a woman. Satrapi's style of drawing is sharp and simple but in her most masterful pictures she turns single figures into patters through repetition. Pains my heart to think about what wonderful country Iran could have been.

Reading Black Jack it is easy to forget that it was drawn already in the seventies. Tezuka bridged Disney cartoons with Japanese culture and created what we know as manga today. Popular culture is in huge debt to Black Jack - not least one Dr. House. Tezuka himself graduated as a doctor and it is visible in the illustrations as well as in the stories.

It's like elevator music except it is on TV! A lot of people seem to die in a small place like Midsomer. I find that alarming and keep watching just in case Mulder and Scully turn up to investigate.

Proper horror manga about a zombie apocalypse that throws an ordinary mangaka on the run. Facing moral dilemmas such as is a zombie a person and is it illegal to shoot a one he stumbles across a barren Japan.

The characters are a bit obvious and the story maybe a tad too fantastic but because of some reason I just have to watch it.

I am writing this recommendation as the fifteen year-old who sat glued to the tv-screen every tuesday night. Never missed an episode. Loving all the horrible possibilities that science might crush us with.

The Pacific left me feeling horrified how different the series was from the original Band of Brothers. After a while it occurred to me that this was the feeling one was supposed to have after watching war.

If your girlfriend expects you to watch this show with her you are lucky! It is smart, quirky and funny and you would not watch it unless she wanted you to.

Solid work as a tv-show but the naiveness of the original novel is unbearable at times.

Gave me a whole new perspective on our recent history.

I love spotting all the NYC celebrities doing cameos! Plus it's a solid story with a good swing to it. Second season goes all boobalishious!

I could watch the show purely from the joy of singing along the jingle

If sex and the city was stripping, this is burlesque, except Carrie isn't wearing any tassels!

The four last episodes left me asking for more, try to fight through the episodes before that and you won't be disappointed.

It's good because Stark is in it. I feel it is a poorly guided Iron Man movie.

A good take on the Manchurian Candidate plot but still a remake.

Moon Nazis return to invade the earth and find a powerful ally from the president of the United States and her campaign manager.
Iron Sky is a crowdfunded/crowdsourced/indie movie that has already gathered a cult following around the world. Sharper direction might have done her some good but overall the movie is fresh as a daisy compared to the Hollywood counterparts.

It's spring and I want to know how fast I can go. Installation was a breeze, less than ten minutes and the package came with multiple mounting options. Works like a charm.

I read a lot of these books but I don't know what correct label would be, maybe not hard sci-fi, but at least deep.
Artificial Sarcastic Intelligences floating across space annihilating fleets of enemy starships, while making witty remarks about humanity. Love it! I wish someone made a movie about this.
It is part of the "Culture" series but really connected to other books so have a go.

Set in relatively close future compared to Alastair Reynold's previous books. Very interesting predictions of the direction that technology and society will evolve. One of those books I couldn't stop reading once I started.
