El Vez is great... Jose Garces kills it

I wandered in here one afternoon and got great service -- the saleswoman knew just by looking at my feet that I have a bad right knee. She recommended several shoes to help correct my gait and offer a % discount as incentive to add on some new shorts to my purchase. It was a wonderful experience, but the shoes were still a bit too expensive for my budget.

I don't subscribe to the magazine, I subscribe to the blog -- it's generally the same content, but for freeee! Chock full of great lists and random facts that are sure to impress that hot-but-oh-so-geeky girl or guy you have your eye on. My favorite column is the abandoned spaces/places photo series Strange Geographies by Ransom Riggs.

As a Texan, I just can't give El Vez my official seal of approval -- it's not really Mexican or Tex-Mex. But if you go in expecting slightly overpriced trendy dishes that just happen to include tortillas, you'll do just fine. Also, the drinks are really strong, which typically leads to some memorable photo booth shots :)

I would like to bestow the "Texan Seal of Approval" on Dos. I'm here at least once a week, it's the best tex-mex I have found in Philly. Wonderful salsa, wonderful margaritas, and wonderful service.
This location is in Northern Liberties, but South Philadelphians can visit the original Cantina location on Passyunk Ave.

Day time: classic burgers, fries, onion rings -- specialties like the Krispy Kreme or Charlie Sheen burgers.
Night time: back room DJ space, not conducive to dancing.
Dessert time: chocolate cheesecake perogies!
Summer time: cornhole and kiddie pools on the patio.
Service time: not fantastic, probably because this place is always packed.
Every time: free beer with Foursquare check-in!

This show consistently makes me cry from laughing so hard. I usually get the feeling these characters are not far off from the actors portraying them, which gives it a feeling of reality that most shows can't master.

One of my very very favorite feeds, home to several recurring columns that knock the socks off the rest of the internet...
>> Playing Doctor by Robert Isenberg
>> Bianca, the Covert Toronto Escort With A Day Job by Miss Bianca
>> Balls Out: A Column On Being Transgendered by Casey Plett
>> Total Loss: A Column About Inventorying Other People's Tragedies by Stef Willen

Extremely addicting -- and available online for free! The dynamic between Leonard and Penny is great, and Sheldon's eccentricities never fail to entertain. The scientific plot lines and jokes are always accurate, so you might just learn a thing or two :) and then the theme song will be stuck in your head for a million years.

Oooh, a very dangerous store for me, it's always full of new treasures. They have pretty much everything -- clothes, shoes, bags, furniture, kitchen-ware. The prices may seem high, but the quality and style is well worth it. Great service, too!

A wonderful summer-y album. Ezra has a gorgeous voice, and you can't help but sing along.
My favorite tracks are 'Giving Up The Gun,' 'Taxi Cab,' and 'Diplomat's Son.' And, actually, all of them :)
