Neat optical illusion. Stare at the red dot for 30 seconds and then look at a blank wall and blink a few times.

Finally a combination of two of my favourite things: Zelda and getting ridiculously drunk in as short a time as possible.

No matter which side you are on over the SGK and Planned Parenthood debacle, this is an interesting look at it from a branding, marketing, and non-profit strategy perspective.

Look! Roller blading 1.0! Always remember, most original ideas were copied from the distant past. These old school hipsters are awesome though.

I've long been wishing for an asynchronous multiplayer game a la Words With Friends that delved into non-word game mechanics. Hero Academy is definitely that game. The turn-based action pits your team of warriors against another's with lots of variety and depth to keep things interesting.

The numerous sequels and forced trilogies in SF bug me so here are some authors who didn't mess with that stuff. I'm not against sequels or series (especially if they're good) but I respect people who try to keep their work fresh.

Photographer Steven Siegel shot street photography throughout NYC's five boroughs during the 70s, 80s and 90s. Here gothamist.com published his thoughts on the changes NYC has been through. He beautifully and simply lays out the tradeoffs of change as I think all New Yorkers see (and struggle with) them.

Interesting read about how piracy provides some of the only channels for fans and historians alike to collect games from the past. In film, some of the world's original works turned into dust before the copyright complexities could be worked out for digital preservation to take place.

This seems really strange to me.

It takes just seconds to give your garlic a boost of flavor (and a silky, stealthy texture).

"Pep Ventosa‘s style of deconstructing and reconstructing photographic images to create new mosaic-like works...His process involves taking as many as 101 photographs of a single subject and then piecing them together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating an entirely new visual experience."
