Keep it simple stupid. Frankies is at the vanguard of the new Brooklyn style restaurant revolution. Unpretentious and wholly focused on the quality and expert simplicity of the food. Their beet and avocado salad, simply dressed with olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette and white pepper is testament to their approach - novel, yet classic at the same time. Can't get enough of them.

I, too, am a huge fan of Frankies Spuntino. A foodie friend of mine took me here for the first time, and I tried to recreate the arugula-fig-goat cheese salad for weeks afterwards, to no worthy result. Go.

I was shocked at the quality of the food at Frankies 17. Do your taste buds a favor and get the Farro with Parmigiano, an oft-overlooked side dish of the Balkan states. The Cavatelli with Spicy Sausage was a champ as were the Meatballs with Red Sauce. Excellent wine selection as well.
Convenient locations in Manhattan (LES) and Brooklyn.
