Along with the Lower East Side's Russ & Daughters, Barney Greengrass is one of New York's last Jewish appetizing stores (a store that sells the foods one eats with bagels). Unlike Russ & Daughters, however, most people get their smoked fish to stay here. A must for anyone seeking a connection with a rapidly vanishing old New York. Order the sturgeon scrambled with eggs and onion.
