Clever, clever writing. Very interesting and absorbing articles. Smirk-worthy cartoons.
Their themed issues are always worth checking out.
But - it costs a lot to subscribe to them...too bad...

Good writing. I try to buy and read it every week. Some of the articles are very, very, very long to the point where I tire of reading them quickly.

As most of the other reviews have indicated, but it bears repeating, the writers are among the most talented out there.
Cons: Viewed by many who haven't even read a single one of its articles as being too high-brow and liberal. Their loss.

Simply the best writers in the business, in depth examinations of an incredibly wide range of topics
Cons: 19,000 word articles, it can be a time commitment.

I always think of it as: the Economist for the Right-Brainers. Secret faves are the restaurant review (Tables for Two) and anything Sasha writes.
Cons: Haven't won the cartoon caption contest yet!

The articles are written well enough to be interesting regardless of content, keeps me up to date on cool things to do in NY
Cons: Sometimes I find the poetry sub-par, but that's probably just personal preference

One of the best magazines out there! Long lasting appeal. Intelligent, humorous, superbly written articles. And let us not forget all the great cartoons
Cons: Could be misconstrued as only for New Yorkers. I am thinking of people from other countries, etc. If they move here.
