A surprisingly easy (if long) read. While the subject matter at times may become a little deeper than some would like, Dostoevsky never fails to make these characters achingly human.

If you want a book that will really shake you down to the core, pick this bad boy up. Oh he'll bite alright, down to the quick! This isn't something you read for the plot or the characters; this book and its ideas are both the foundation and the indictment of modern philosophy.

Lots of ups and downs, and the speed of the book is faster in some parts more than others. But the story is great, and the character development even better.
Cons: Very long. Patient, grasshopper.
