American Aspen trees, Populus Tremuloides, sometimes known as quakies where I come from, are a uniquely beautiful tree. The flatness of the leaf stem causes the leaves to flutter in the slightest breeze making walking through a grove sound like being in a giant fountain. Aspens are also thought to be the largest and oldest living things on the planet as entire mountainsides can be 1 organism.
