Well, first it is free to play and the cash shop items do not offer much benefit to those who buy them, which I do because I'd like to support an awesome free game.
I've never played an MMO that feels this way. There is no generic button mashing, this takes real skill and while later levels are becoming more gear based, skill still trumps gear.
