I probably would have never put my hands on the book if it weren't for Franzen's heartfelt recommendation. The stories that mingle beautifully tell the story of an ever wandering teacher of seventh graders, who along the way recollects her narratives of a missed father, of an adolescence that never really lived up to the intentions and dreams she had.
