I've seen cyclists grab on to trucks for a lift a couple times, but never skateboarders. Crazy.
Reminds me of Snow Crash (hunch.com/item/hn_1246644/snow-crash/) in which one of the main characters is a futuristic skateboard courier who gets around by attaching to cars with a magnet.
