When I started this book, I found the poisons dominated the story. Feeling there wasn't characters to follow, I was going to abandon it. I decided to stick with it and I'm glad that I did.
It's an interesting look at the early stages of forensic medicine.
There are plenty of cases where the cure was worse than the disease or ailment. Mercury for constipation -- what were they thinking!
