Winner of Best Picture, Best Actor for Kevin Spacey, Best Director, and Best Cinematography in 1999, American Beauty is dark and richly complex with characters that are as much funny as they are sad. It's really a film about the turmoil under placid appearances, about lust, rejection, and how we're all pushed into roles we can't fufill.

for me, this is possibly the closest thing to a perfect movie. it forces you to question what beauty really is. and could there be a more beautiful score? I think not.

The photography is just beautifull as so its sountrack. The story makes you think about the importance of being honest to what you love rather than what others may think.
