Even though it seems a little too depressing and abstract to be my cup of tea, I LOVE this game because it's one of a kind, the designer managed to do something COMPLETELY 180 degrees from what the rest of the industry is doing, and it's an effective, evocative experience. Beware! This video game may make you actually feel something!

Technically a horror game based around the themes of "Little Red Riding Hood," but really so much more. Rather than puzzle-solving or fighting, this game functions as an interactive story. The gameplay experience depends entirely on each individual player's interpretations. Unique and thought-provoking.

A very dark game for PC/Mac which is quite unlike any other game I've played. It's based on "Little Red Riding Hood", but uses that as a base to tell the coming of age stories for 6 young girls. Here's the twist--the game tells you that your goal is to simply follow the path to Grandmother's House, but if you do that, you lose. You must wander astray and meet your personal "wolf" to be successful.

I got the game recommendation from Hunch - and I love it. It is more about story than about gameplay and unlike most other games.
Cons: If you expect to beat the high score, this is not the right game for you.
