I really like how they used the apes' eyes and facial expressions to portray emotions.

Equal to the first (original) in many ways. The original is a classic, this won't be, but this is because of their individual times in history, not because this is any less of a movie. It's certainly better acted than the first and with better special effects (as you would expect). But the first was cultural, this version won't be.

SO good! Great storyline, beautiful production, fantastic effects, emotion-inducing interactions between characters... Everything that makes a great movie.

A new twist on the original story. James Franco is good in this movie. The animation of the apes is well done.
