One of the best albums of the '90s. A rare instance where 3 seconds into the first song, I knew I loved it...and once you fall for this album, you'll never stray.

This album has actually gotten better with age. Indie rock fans will instantly hear the influence it had on many of today's best bands.

Too far out and quixotic to only vaguely understand, this masterpiece album by the remarkably fleeting ex-band Neutral Milk Hotel uses exotic and wide instrumentation to accompany Jeff Mangum's 1960's Dylan-esque lyrics and emotional voice. If you like good indie, you'll probably like NMH. Be warned though, it's easily accesible, but not easily likable.

I don't usually dig acoustic rock (which, yes, IS an oxymoron), but this is one of the loveliest albums I have ever heard.
