Computer learns to play Civilization by reading the instruction manual

"RTFM", an answer you often get on newsgroup and fora, when asking a question about something... Tells quite a bit about why one should sometimes read a manual (I say only sometimes, as often they're so badly written you can't do anything with it), but also tells quite a bit about artificial intelligence. Still needs human input after all, as a human has written the code and the manual ;-)

As mundane as it may sound for any person to read a manual and then improve at a game, for a machine to do so is just plain crazy!
Clearly the T-1000 can't be far off.
