Even if it weren't about such a fascinating figure, the book is so well written that I can't put it down. Maybe that's why it won the Pulitzer Prize. Morris paints such a compelling picture of this larger-than-life character who stood up to corruption and the political machine, it makes me long for a TR in our own time!
