Frank Miller's neo-noir series completely stunning visually, with stark black and white drawings that the movie just did not do justice, despite all the hype about the visual effects. The series is definitely gritty, but nothing compared to a lot of movies today. Sin City is all the familiar, classic, grimy characters, taken to their extreme. Subtle social commentary is not absent here.
